Haymarket Adopts Mobile as the Future of Publishing in Partnership with YOC

YOC designs and builds mobile sites for range of industry-leading Haymarket titles

Full service mobile marketing agency The YOC Group has revealed that it has brokered a partnership with global media company Haymarket to create mobile websites for a number of industry-leading publications. YOC will design and build the websites for PistonHeads, What Car?, Autocar and Stuff.tv, enabling readers to access the same high quality content they experience in print and online whilst on the move. YOC will also manage the ad sales, and create mobile marketing campaigns to generate awareness and drive traffic to the sites.

“With Haymarket onboard, YOC can now boast partnerships with two of the most influential publication houses in the UK”, said Christian Louca, UK Country Manager & Head of Publishers, YOC Group. “This is huge for YOC and clearly demonstrates the rapid growth of the mobile internet amongst the most influential brands and media owners in the UK. With the economy in a state of recession, brands are turning to mobile not only as a complementary channel to traditional media outlets, but as a substitute for the more costly above-the-line communications.”

“Mobile provides the opportunity for us to expand the ways in which we communicate with our audience, creating a new channel that complements the challenges of life on-the-go and on-demand,” said Sandip Ray, Business Director, Haymarket. “YOC’s mobile innovation and technical experience will help us extend key titles into new demographics and boost readership amongst time-poor consumers on the move. We see this as the next logical step in meeting the needs of our customers.

One of the largest car-enthusiast communities in the world, PistonHeads.com joined the Haymarket group in early 2007 and counts 2.5million unique users every month, putting it within the UK’s top 10 online magazine brands according to audited traffic figures by ABCe. What Car? is the UK’s leading car buying brand, with a print circulation of 92,102 and 1.2million online unique users every month. Autocar was first published in 1895 and represents one of the world’s most recognised and respected motoring brands, with a print circulation of 52,366, and more than 300,000 unique online users a month. Stuff.tv on the other hand focuses on gadgetry and with just under a million page impressions per month, it is already one of the UK’s leading tech sites. The mobile sites that YOC is developing for each publication will allow the magazines to reach their audiences in a creative, personal and engaging way, whilst creating a further revenue stream for Haymarket by the monetisation of ad inventory on the sites.
